JUST SAY NO TO FEAR

According to Dilip Mukerjea, writing in his book, 'Building BrainPower: Turning Grey Matter into Gold', "Many people are running away from FEAR or FEAR simply holds them prisoners behind bars.

This feeling is natural. but why let it disable you?

Don't play safe. Go out and learn more . . . and more . . . and more. A zest for learning equates with having a zest for life. Take risks. Most people permit fear to hold them back, believing that FEAR stands for Failure Ensured After Risk or Forget Everything And Run.

FEAR should be accepted as a natural part of living. We cannot avoid it. But let it not disable us. If it enters our hearts, we should let it ride along, welcoming the rush of adrenalin, so that FEAR becomes:

Feeling Enthusiastic, Adrenalin Rich.

And then, FREEDOM! Learning becomes FUN again!"

Say Keng's expert comments:

All fears, whether that is fear of getting out of the comfort zone, fear of the unknown, fear of ridicule or looking stupid among our peers, even anxiety, worry, doubt, regret or others, often result from focusing on events that have already happened (which you no longer have any control to change) or future events that you envision to be unpleasant (which are not real, but simply a figment of your imagination).

The only reality that you face lies in the present moment.

I would recommend three simple steps to take advantage of the opportunity where you find fear:

1) identify the fear or what you afraid of, then follow step 2;

2) think of a way to confront the fear, imagine a positive outcome of the way, visualise achieving or experiencing it, & move to step 3;

3) just do it!

Come to think of it, fear is all about imagination.

Your mind has the outstanding propensity to create fantastic 'what-if?' scenarios, often resulting in negative images in the mind. Your thoughts are so powerful that they can produce measurable physical responses within your body, even when there is no real danger.

The best way to overcome fear, as illustrated in the foregoing recommendation, is to replace the negative images with positive ones.

So, what would you do if you weren't afraid?
