WHAT HAS CATSEYE GOT TO DO WITH CREATIVITY?

According to Dilip Mukerjea, Learning Chef & Braindancer, writing in his book, 'Unleashing Genius with the World's Most Powerful Learning Systems', you can monitor your genius by paying heed to these pointers via the mnemonic:

CATSEYE

C is for CURIOSITY and CONNECTIONS:

Remain constantly curious about the world in general. Spot the connections between different phenomena. Look at life with a sense of wonder.

A is for ALACRITY:

Keep improving your response-ability, your speed of response to situations.

T is for TIME and TIMING:

The time you take to solve problems should be decreasing. Time and pace yourself so that you harmonise with the rhythms of life.

S is for SENSES:

Use all your senses (sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing, intuition and humour) to enhance your powers of recall, communication, and intelligence.

E is for ERRORS:

Keep working at cutting down on errors made in processes, but learn from every error; the secret to success lies in 'having a go' and daring to err in order to succeed.

Y is for YIPPEEEE! Have fun whilst learning. Become a FUN-atic and your brain will blossom automagically.

E is for EXCELLENCE:

Keep seeking excellence in your work, your relationships, and within yourself.

Say Keng's Expert Comments:

As safety devices on highways, cateyes help to keep motorists & truckers in staying mentally alert as well as physically focused when negotiating bends & other curvatures on the highways during night driving.

Therefore, metaphorically speaking, Dilip's principal premise in introducing the mnemonic 'CATSEYE' is actually to illustrate the significance of enhancing our perceptual sensitivity to the world at large.

For me, enhancing perceptual sensitivity is akin to enhancing opportunity discovery.

Here are what the experts or gurus have to say, in reinforcing my personal belief:

"You are surrounded by simple, obvious solutions that can dramatically increase your income, power, influence & success. The problem is, you just don't see them."

~ marketing strategist Jay Abraham, author of 'Getting Everything You Can Out of All You've Got';

"Successful opportunities for innovation & growth are right here, in front of us, & we often can't see them or don't act on them."

~ business strategist Erich Joachimsthaler, author of 'Hidden in Plain Sight: How to Find & Execute Your Company's Next Big Growth Strategy';

"Everyone is surrounded by opportunities. But they only exist once they have been seen. And they will only be seen if they are looked for."

~ creativity guru Edward de bono, author of 'Opportunities: A Handbook for Business Opportunity Search';
