FROM DILIP MUKERJEA

"Genius is in-born, may it never be still-born."

"Oysters, irritated by grains of sand, give birth to pearls. Brains, irritated by curiosity, give birth to ideas."

"Brainpower is the bridge to the future; it is what transports you from wishful thinking to willful doing."

DEVELOPING A FUTURIST MINDSET: "Seeing Tomorrow in the Trends of Today", WITH JOHN NAISBITT

Dilip Mukerjea is always a spark plug in any setting, business or social. He is seen here, together with some staff members of the Singapore Institute of Management, enjoying a group photo shoot with global futurist & China watcher John Naisbitt, who was in town to deliver a lecture, in conjunction with his book, 'Mind Set!: Reset Your Thinking & See the Future'.

In a nut shell, 'Mind Set!' opens your eyes "to see tomorrow in the trends of today".

John Naisbitt is the international best-selling author of his seminal works, 'Megatrends' & 'Megatrends 2000'.

His goal, as expressed on his corporate website, is "to help his audience create a new picture of the world - a picture that makes it clear where all the details of a seemingly chaotic present fit into the whole. Most are trying to fit new information into an old picture. But you cannot understand the new world by trying to construct it with pieces left over from the old world."

He is also currently a professor at the Tianjin University of Finance & Economics & Nankai University, in addition to being a Board Member of the Asian Business School in Tianjin.

Together with his wife, Doris [seen standing behind him in the group snapshot], he has established the Naisbitt China Institute in the autumn of 2007, based in Tianjin, with the view of identifying China's economic, cultural & political shifts for the next decade.

His latest book is 'China's Megatrends: The 8 Pillars of a New Society', released in January this year.

By the way, Dilip has also completed a splash map of key ideas from the 'Mindset!' book. Please refer to my earlier blogpost in this weblog.
